Interview with Featured Model: Cameron Fraser/p> How did you get into modeling? It all actually started when I was younger. I was 15 years old, looked much older, and was contacted by a photographer in L.A., who is now a good friend, asking if I would be interested in shooting with him. Needless to say, when my age was presented, it didn't happen but he did end up being the very first person I ever shot with. What are your goals in the profession? Do you see it as a full-time occupation or an avocation? For the longest time, I did want to make it a full time gig, as well as pursue acting, but as I developed and shot more, I realized that to hinge yourself and focus solely on attaining such status' doesn't allow for reality. I will continue to shoot and work with amazing people I am sure of it, and if my break comes, then great! If it doesn't, then I have embarked on a lifestyle already that I am very happy with. If it's an avocation, what are your other career goals? I am an entrepreneur, and am currently opening a gym that is tailored towards giving back to those who gave the most. It is a fitness and training center that specializes in veteran rehabilitation, and military prep. We also will be working with elite athletes. In the midst of it all, I still find time to double major in physics as well as applied health. I figured ... why spend all of the money on hiring doctors for the facility, when I can spend it on myself to become one! Its been a journey to say the least! Looking as good as you do isn't easy. What are your training methods? That is an understatement. Unless you are blessed with perfect genetics, than we all have to work hard at this. As for me, my training habits are designed around being an overall athlete. I design my programs around being able to maintain mass while making plyometrics and cardio a staple in each workout. I am at the gym at 4:30 every morning for cardio, and then again in the afternoon or evening for my lift and plyo work. How about diet? This is the hardest of all, and even if you have personal knowledge and experience in creating diet plans like many of those at elite levels do, it is still constantly a challenge to find equilibrium in being able to optimize fat burning, while maintaining mass and all at the same time ensuring that you are eating healthy. When I speak of healthy I speak of feeding your body the proper nutrients it needs to perform in peak condition. Too many people refer to bodybuilder diets which is one of the worst things you can do aside from literally copying another diet. Any bodybuilder will admit that even though what they eat is optimal for their sport, its not optimal for overall health. In regards to copying diets ... worst thing you can do! Everyones body is different, and needs to be treated as such. The diet I follow constantly varies as my body progresses or regresses. Do you plan to compete in bodybuilding or fitness shows or have you already? I have always thought of it, and have been told that I should try it out. I think that sometime here in the future I am going to, Or at least train to! The hardest part for me is getting over my own mental block that my physique isn't where it should be in order to be able to get up on stage and be judged on it. I am too self conscious. How do you kick back and relax? Honestly, I am always on the go! I can't stand sitting around. If I am not sleeping, working, going to school, or training, then I will make myself do one of the above haha. Relaxing is boring to me! How about some favorites? Singer/Musician or Group: My favorite band would have to be Breaking Benjamin. My ipod is filled with thousands of songs and hundreds of artists, but I always find myself coming back to their music when I don't know who or what I want to listen to. Actor: Ryan Reynolds. Hilarious guy. Actress: I don't think I have an answer to this that is not based off of looks haha. Movie: Its split between The Hangover, 300, and Remember the Titans Song: I don't have one. It changes way too often to pin point a favorite. Book: My favorite book is the Pilgrims Progress. The mesage that the book presents is such a powerful one. How would you state your most important value in life? I would have to say if I were to give advice to someone on life is that you need to live with passion. Often times we lose site of the fact that every breath we breathe is a gift. So take advantage of it, and have a burning passion for life, and what you do in it. If you do that, then you will never have to question if you lived life. You can say that every second of it was worth it. |
